Aeschines - c.390-314? B.C., from his speech "Against Ctesiphon"
Athenian orator. He became politically powerful through his oratorical pngts. He was the bitter rival of Demosthenes who had been offered a "crown" by Ctesiphon which Aeschines considered an illegal decree, and in this speech he is telling the people of Athens not to listen to Demosthenes.
