Dear Mr. Anderson:

In response to your inquiry concerning your dog's (Holly's) license tag, we discovered that the application submitted by Ms. Gunn included a previous license tag number. Our data entry operator updated the record and deposited the check without reviewing the new dog owner information.

A letter requesting a late fee was mailed erroneously to Holly's previous owner. This envelope was returned by the postal service marked as 'Moved," and we updated the record. The copy you provided of the cashed check helped us identify the error and allowed us to correct the mistake. As a result, we have waived the $20,00 late fee.

We apologize to you for any convenience[sic]this may have caused you. Enclosed please find your dog license tag and certificate.
