8. The Inverted Sentence

My sentence:

Fierce she was, and swift and strong.

Wallace Stevens, "Anecdote of a Jar"

In his poem, Mr. Stevens describes how our perception of the wilderness is changed merely by adding a man-made object (like a jar). The word ekphrasis, the verbal representation of visual representation, describes this type of poem.
